Even in a small town, patterns start to appear in the treatment room.
After years of working with local clients, we often notice the same muscle imbalances and tension patterns showing up again and again. Not because people are doing anything wrong, but because our daily routines shape our bodies more than we realise.
Tight necks and upper shoulders
Desk work, driving and phones all pull the head forward. Over time this creates tension through the neck and upper back, often leading to headaches or that constant feeling of tight shoulders. Can't forget to mention the tradies, repetitive arm movements, awkward angles and prolonged forward bending all lead to chronic tension.

Overworked lower backs
Whether it's long hours sitting, driving or physical work, the lower back often compensates when hips and glutes aren't doing their share of the work.

Tight hips
Sitting is the biggest contributor here. When hips become restricted, it can lead to lower back pain, knee discomfort or reduced mobility. What we see manifest is a pesky, tight piriformis muscle leading to symptoms of sciatica

Jaw tension and clenching
Stress shows up in the jaw more than people realise. Many clients don’t even know they’re clenching until we mention it. This can lead to jaw pain and headaches.

The important thing to understand is that these patterns are different for everyone. That’s why a good massage isn’t a routine — it’s a treatment designed around what your body needs that day.
At Reflect Mobile Spa, we offer several different modalities to best suit your preferred approach to massage treatment. Read more about the modalities here.
